Love checkered outfits!? Fall weather brings us new prints, patterns & fabrics that everyone seems to love. The ‘Checkered Print’ has chic written all over it and what better place to wear it to than to the office!! a place where tailored silhouettes reign. I hope this bold look brings you a little inspiration to mix this pattern into your everyday work outfits!
My days in Paris were short and sweet, and I am already missing the delicious food, the strolls, the views and the Parisian vibes. The City of Light has always been one of my fave cities in the world, not only because I lived there, but because my experiences have always been lovely. So I was incredibly happy when my sister announced that she would be getting married in France… that meant that I would return to Paris! The day finally arrived and a few weeks ago we took a flight from Miami to Paris, spent the weekend, and then drove on Monday to Dordogne, the southwestern region of France. We returned to Paris the following Friday and stayed six more days. Today I’d love to share with you my 10 things to do in Paris! … and a few photos I took on this trip. 😉
This quarter of the 6th arrondissement of Paris is one of the swankier neighborhoods in Paris’ rive gauch (left bank), filled with brasseries, upscale boutiques, yet not overcrowded with tourists.
Two cafés that I recommend to try are Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore, I used to go to the first one with friends for l’aperitif (love this French habit!). The aperitif is a friendly ritual that Parisians do before a meal, they share a drink (nothing too high in alcohol) and something salty like chips. They also do it on regular week nights!
Sit outside, order the croque-monsieur and a Monaco bière with grenadine (my fave!). While the timing of the aperifit may remind you of the American Happy Hour, it is not the same concept. Happy hours celebrate the end of the ‘work-day’ but the aperitif is something else, it is not the end, it is the ‘beginning of the night,’ so the mind set is very different. And while in Paris I used to do the aperitif almost every night, here in Miami, I rarely make my way to any happy hours!
Skip the lines at the Louvre and visit this beautiful museum instead! Musée d’Orsay houses the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces of the world. Inside are the works of a few of my favorite artists: Pierre Auguste Renoir, Édouard Manet, and Claude Monet. This museum is housed inside the former Gare d’Orsay, a railway station constructed for the 1900 World Fair. The view from the top level is amazing!!
I have a big admiration for painters and their art, that is one of the reasons why I initially moved to Paris – to focus my studies on Art History. If you are in Paris for a few days, and not sure whether to visit this museum or the Louvre, consider the following: the Louvre exhibits over 35,000 works of art (that’s a lot!), Musée d’Orsay contains 2,000 paintings and 600 sculptures. Back in the day, I visited the Louvre over a dozen times (3-4 hours inside each time), and I still have tons to see! … plus it is overwhelming due to the size of it.
This (pictured above) is likely my favorite café in Paris, and it has a spectacular view of Les Invalides! I love how cozy the outdoor seating is, the trendy inside decor, their menu, and that it sits in all of its Parisian splendor. Overall, it is a discreet, quiet, and elegant café in the exclusive 7th arrondissement.
I found this café because it was less than half-a-block away from the apartment where I used to live. I loved going there with a friend who lived nearby, to study for exams while enjoying the peaceful view.
If you are going to splurge and treat yourself, this place can be a nice option, but I suggest that if you go for dinner – make the reservation the day before. Also, the gorgeous Musée Rodin is around the corner, it is dedicated to the works of my favorite French sculptor, Auguste Rodin – go check it out!
If you want a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower, make your way to Palais de Tokyo located near Trocadero in the 16th arrondissement!
Afterwards you can also enjoy lunch or dinner at two trendy restaurants that I highly recommend (a)
Good morning babes! How are you? Here is another look from my collaboration with NAKD Fashion. In order to soften the rectangular shape of these wide leg trousers, I decided to add a feminine ruffled bodysuit that accentuates a little bit my body’s silhouette. The part that I loved the most about the pants was the paperbag waist detail. By tucking in any slim top inside of them, you can highlight it 🙂 These comfy trousers can easily be worn with any color top, and have been perfect here in France where you can feel the Fall weather at night… Hope that you have a wonderful week, I’ll talk to you later, xoxo.
Hey babes!! Here is a fall inspired look, a Kimono Wrapped Dress and OTK boots! I have been doing a collaboration with NakdFashion and I shared with you my favorites on Instagram. This dress is comfortable, sexy, and it comes in five colors, but olive brown is the color I loved it the most in. I wore it in France, while spending a few days in the little town of Saint Yrieix La Perche. It is located in the Aquitaine region in west central France, and we stayed there for the weekend, after a week in Paris, and prior to going to the chateau where my sister’s wedding was held at. Love to have found a wrap dress that comes with a detachable v-neck petticoat with adjustable straps to wear underneath. It makes a difference! Because it got a little chilly at night, these boots were perfect for it. You can also style the kimono over skinny jeans. Hope you love the look 🙂 See it in every color and length below or in the boutique section of my blog. Lots of love <3
Hola chicas!!
Hi my loves! I hope your week is going wonderful. The weather in Miami has been crazy the last few days! We quickly go from hot and sunny, to gray with non-stop rain, but that’s okay as I’ve been mostly working and packing. Today’s look has tweed & skinny jeans, two of my favorite things! I love tweed jackets for multiple reasons, and one of them is how versatile they are. While tweed is often associated with classic & sophisticated looks, it can also be a modern it-girl staple. The key to wearing tweed is finding pieces with modern silhouettes like this fantastic textured jacket. I like the fluted sleeves, the raw-edged trim, and that it is fitted, not boxy. This jacket is so me! delicate, feminine and modern.

The off the shoulder trend is seen in various colors, forms and textures. And not only in tops, but also in dresses. A woman’s neckline is so beautiful – and this trend is perfect for highlighting our neck and shoulders. I have bought several this season, and this one has been grabbing the most attention. It is a casual, white plain top with a black trim. The sleeves on this top are incredible, and made for standing out! It’s a super fun trend, I love it!
Here are five similar tops from this brand, all under $ 20, in case the one I have sells out!!
What about you? Are you wearing off shoulder tops this season?

I love belts, countless times they have helped me have a ‘waist,’ and other times, they have given shape to my shapeless dresses. But because a belt can also make or break an outfit, it is better to style it properly. Characteristics such as the width, color, pattern, material, style, and length of the belt need to be considered when styling any casual or dressy ensemble. And as always, a person’s torso length, waist size and height will determine which belt accentuates their specific body shape the best.
YOUR BODY’S PROPORTIONS: Wide belts will shorten a long torso, and look best when added to long dresses. If you have a short torso, a wide belt will take up the majority of your torso, and shrink the distance between your chest and hips. So sticking to thinner belts is probably the best option.
SHIFT DRESSES: Whenever I find a shift dress that I love, like the one on today’s post, I always try a few thin belts on. This dress comes with its own belt, and I removed it to add a metallic copper one. Not only does it add a visual interest to the dress, it gives me the hourglass silhouette. I know that not adding the belt makes me look a bit shapeless – but I still enjoy the loose look, and wear it often. It really just depends on the look you want to wear!
MATCHING: You always have the option of matching your belt to your shoes, but you don’t have to. The bucket bag that I picked out for this look has a gold o-ring that goes well with the belt. Matching simply makes you look polished and put together.
Let’s see both ways below! 😉
