Escorpion Studio Barcelona debuted a collection that invites you to dream about the ocean, boats, and sailing. Each outfit had an authentic nautical vibe, created by mixed textures, lots of stripes, and vibrant colors: red, fuchsia, white or navy. The fusion of ethnic styled fabrics, and sophisticated prints resulted in a reinvented nautical option for the next Fall. Check out my favorite styles below!
I am so excited to share this event one more time! This is the third year that I am involved with Fashion Gives Back, a night of fashion, music & fun benefiting the local children’s hospital. This event, as well as the foundation has become a truly important organization in my life and in my heart. Everything that we do, is to improve the lives of the patients of this hospital. This event takes place during the month of September of every year, and we literally begin preparing for it around January / February. There is a lot of effort behind it, so it is beautiful to see the community coming together for the children.
Together with the Hosting Committee we have successfully improved this event throughout the years, so much so that for the first time we are doing it at a new & gorgeous venue – The Moore Building! (The previous years we hosted the fashion show inside of Neiman Marcus). Take a look at the design of the inside of the building. The modern “Elastika” installation was created by London-based architect Zaha Hadid, but the building itself was built in 1921 as a furniture showroom.
We are lucky to have big sponsors that continue to help make this event a success.
The SS16 collection that I will focus on from tonight’s fashion show at 080 Barcelona Fashion is MENCHEN TOMAS. MENCHEN TOMAS was founded in 1995 by two designers, Olga R. Menchen and Francesc G. Tomas. From their runway show at 080 Barcelona Fashion, I could not pick just four, so I picked twelve! Pastel pink, light blue, red and white are the prominent colors of their SS16 collection. Gold accents highlight a few pieces, but sheer and textured fabrics are predominant. I am a big fan of everything so feminine, so I love it. Enjoy!
Justicia Ruano was my favorite designer today at 080 Barcelona Fashion Week. I loved her entire ETHNO-GLAM Collection. Her Fall / Winter designs are trendy, luxurious and feminine. Tons of silk, chiffon, embroidery, as well as natural fabrics where the chosen textures for next fall. Today I am sharing my favorite looks! Each outfit that I chose could be worn to a special occasion / evening event / or party. Take a look at her stunning, gorgeous & timeless pieces…!
Hello! I have arrived to the city of Krakow, Poland, for a spiritual trip and will be spending two weeks visiting different cities in this country. It’s my first time here so I am super eager to learn about the food, the culture, the landscape, and everything else! The weather is currently so beautiful, it is chilly, but sunny. The first photo was taken in Lagiewniki – here is located a sanctuary that is visited by millions of pilgrims from around the world every year. The second photo is from the Main Market Square in Krakow’s old town, the tall building that you see is the brick Gothic St. Mary’s Basilica that was rebuilt in the 14th century. It is well known for its impressive wooden altarpiece inside that was carved by Veit Stoss (a leading German sculptor, whose career covered the transition between the late Gothic and the Northern Renaissance). I was impressed by the blue starred ceiling inside, it reminds me of Sainte Chapelle, the royal Gothic style chapel in Paris, France (also built and consecrated in the 13th century). Something very interesting takes place at St. Mary’s Basilica: every hour a trumpet signal is played, that commemorates the famous 13th century trumpeter that was shot in the throat while sounding the alarm during the Mongol invasion of the city of Krakow. I will post more photos soon!, so far I have limited wifi, and we are always walking around… xo
Good evening beauties! Here is a quick round up of photos from FGB where I so happy to be one of the MCs. This haute couture event was organized by the Hosting Committee of MCHF and it was held at Neiman Marcus. I became an ambassador of MCHF in 2013, and love the mission behind this organization. The most wonderful part about the fundraisers that we host is that 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the patients and families of the local children’s hospital.
The white & navy gown that I wore, I purchased in Cartagena, Colombia when I visited two months ago for one of my college girlfriend’s wedding. We saw this dress on a window display as we were quickly walking down one of the streets one night, and I gasped when I saw it. It was a bit pricey, but I figured I would save it for special occasions.
Hola from Cartagena, Colombia! Today I am sharing pictures from Castillo San Felipe (Saint Phillip Castle), and the outfit I am wearing is the only I could due to the extreme heat!!! We would all be walking around in a bikini if it was possible. The Straw Hat you see are sold everywhere! to protect from the sun. I purchased mine right before climbing to the top of the castle.
Places / Things to See:
Walled City of Cartagena
San Felipe Castle
Cathedral San Pedro Claver
Plaza Santo Domingo
Museo del Oro (Gold Museum)
Restaurants (recommended to me by my local friends):
La Casa de Socorro
Marea by Rausch
Vera (located inside Tcherassi Hotel)
Let’s see, we loved them all, some are quite fancy, like Marea. Vera, from fashion designer Silvia Tcherassi, was a tad pricey but the food was exquisite! And if you want to eat the yummiest local food at a non-tourist restaurant, go to La Casa de Socorro – I wanted to go back! Don Juan has local cuisine also but it is located smack in the middle of the tourist spots. Overall though, we loved every single one for a different reason. So so happy to be here!!! 🙂
One of the coolest parts of 080 Barcelona Fashion takes place during the last day of Barcelona fashion week, the MODAFAD Fashion Awards. MODAFAD is about promoting young designers, launching them at the international level, and fostering relationships between design schools and the fashion industry. Each edition of “Project T” allows emerging fashion designers to showcase their unique creations to the world. How neat is that?!? “Project T” gathers the best students in fashion design, holds a runway show, and then an international jury selects the ‘best designer,’ the ‘best collection,’ and the ‘special Mention of the year.’ Below I am sharing a few outfits from this edition of Modafad Awards. Check them out!
ModaFad is an event that takes place during the last day of every edition of Barcelona Fashion Week. It allows emerging fashion designers the opportunity to present their designs on the catwalk. How cools is that!?! Awards are given to the best three designers of the year. Today I am sharing what I thought were the coolest looks, take a look!
