White Midi Skirt
Who doesn’t want to be a princess? Surely I do, and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, shows us how to. She is certainly one of the most influential women in fashion, with the power to make items sell out in seconds. Whether you follow the Duchess’ style or not, it is undeniable that her outfits are super classy and feminine. Let’s take a look at one particular outfit of hers that I love!
Did you notice the three differences in her outfits? Her two piece suit is from Alexander McQueen, many of his best works are often spotted on her, and they look stunning on her silhouette. The suit is made of a material with cutout designs, and embroidery. The bottom is a full a-line skirt that was matched to a fitted top. In her first look we see a belt, a navy handbag, and navy colored cork wedges. For a different occassion she accessorized the same suit with a clutch, no belt, and nude pumps. Which of the two do you like the best? A casual look with navy wedges or a classic look with nude pumps?
My a-line skirt is from H&M (I found it during a recent shopping run), and my off-the-shoulder top is one of my favorites tops from Ralph Lauren (I’ve had it for a while). After pairing both items, I was able to recreate a similar version of her graceful and beautiful outfit – at an affordable price! Where could you wear this outfit to – you ask? Well, you can certainly wear it during the weekend to any lunch that you may have! I wore this outfit yesterday to a lovely brunch with bloggers. The food was catered from a local raw-food place, and the sangria that we enjoyed was home-made. Overall, we had an awesome afternoon!
The full a-line skirt was popular back in the 1940’s, a fashion decade known for its elegance and grace. Ava Gardner was a style icon that loved the trend, Faye Dunaway wore this style in the 1960’s film Bonnie and Clyde, and if you fast forward to the present we see that Kate Middleton wears this trendy classic as well.
What do you think? Do you like this classic trend? Below you will find white skirts at different price points. Write me a message with your comments, I’d love to hear from you! And I hope that everyone enjoys this new week. Lots of love!
