Funkshion – July 2016
I love that Swim Week takes place in Miami Beach! Miami is sunny, vibrant & gorgeous – in my opinion, it is an unbeatable location. Miami is also one of the few cities of the world where you can wear a swimsuit 365 days a year. What is “Funkshion”?? It’s a four day event for emerging and innovative designers to showcase their latest designs on catwalks set-up in beautiful locations around Miami Beach.
This year’s runway shows took place at The W Hotel, the 1 Hotel, the Faena Hotel, The Setai, the Nautilus Hotel or inside the Funkshion Tent. Attendees had the opportunity to see the collections from Kyboe!, Aguaclara, For Love & Lemons, Maaji, Lee and Lani, Lila Nikole, Tori Praver, Luli Fama, Anna Kosturova, Beach Riot, Sinesia Karol, and Keva J. There were about four shows per night, and the ones that I attended were packed. I took these images while waiting backstage for one of the runway shows to start… I have also uploaded two videos on my Instagram, have you seen them?? If not, click here.
Hi! Here is the recipe for the Pumpkin Bread that I baked. Everyone at my parent’s loved it!
- 16 ounces canned unsweetened pumpkin
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves (*)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2/3 cup water
(*) I totally forgot to purchase these! My bread came out great anyway… I just added a little bit of allspice to make up for that…
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour 2 standard size loaf pans. Mix the sugar and oil. Add eggs (lightly beaten) and pumpkin to the mix, stir…
In a separate bowl combine all dry ingredients. Blend dry ingredients and water into the wet mixture.
Pour equally into the two loaf pans. Bake 30 – 40 minutes. Allow to cool before eating…
Here is a photo of mine! Someone could not wait for me to take a photo…!

“GIVING BACK IS ALWAYS IN FASHION”
I am so excited to share this event one more time! This is the third year that I am involved with Fashion Gives Back, a night of fashion, music & fun benefiting the local children’s hospital. This event, as well as the foundation has become a truly important organization in my life and in my heart. Everything that we do, is to improve the lives of the patients of this hospital. This event takes place during the month of September of every year, and we literally begin preparing for it around January / February. There is a lot of effort behind it, so it is beautiful to see the community coming together for the children.
Together with the Hosting Committee we have successfully improved this event throughout the years, so much so that for the first time we are doing it at a new & gorgeous venue – The Moore Building! (The previous years we hosted the fashion show inside of Neiman Marcus). Take a look at the design of the inside of the building. The modern “Elastika” installation was created by London-based architect Zaha Hadid, but the building itself was built in 1921 as a furniture showroom.
We are lucky to have big sponsors that continue to help make this event a success.

Fall Winter 2015
SITA MURT’s Ready to Wear Fall / Winter 15 Collection at 080 Barcelona Fashion, showed a lot of masculine yet sexy looks for women. Her newest pieces look comfortable and relaxed.
The colors SITA MURT has chosen tend to be natural, somber, masculine and elegant. I loved her grey knitted sweaters, here are a few of her trendy and relaxed looking outfits. Enjoy!
FGB at Neiman Marcus
Good evening beauties! Here is a quick round up of photos from FGB where I so happy to be one of the MCs. This haute couture event was organized by the Hosting Committee of MCHF and it was held at Neiman Marcus. I became an ambassador of MCHF in 2013, and love the mission behind this organization. The most wonderful part about the fundraisers that we host is that 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the patients and families of the local children’s hospital.
The white & navy gown that I wore, I purchased in Cartagena, Colombia when I visited two months ago for one of my college girlfriend’s wedding. We saw this dress on a window display as we were quickly walking down one of the streets one night, and I gasped when I saw it. It was a bit pricey, but I figured I would save it for special occasions.
Hope everyone is having a great week!
