Hello girls!  This outfit that I am sharing today combines all of my favorites: silk, embroidery, and eyelets. I have an obsession with skirts (it’s pretty serious, I do!), and I think it’s my grandmother’s fault!!  I grew up hearing her say that ladies should always wear skirts or dresses.  Even during the cold winter she would wear skirts… long and made of wool.  I also need skirts daily for work, specially pencil skirts, so over the years I have created my own collection, in all colors, shapes and sizes.  This one is from Ann Taylor (I got the smallest size and asked my seamstress to tighten it so it would not fall).  I paired it with a silk top for a polished & very feminine look.  So pretty and ladylike!

¡Hola chicas! Super elegante!!

Hi ladies!  There are trends.  And then there are timeless styles.  Such is the case with one of the most flattering pieces of clothing you will ever own, The Pencil Skirt.  This is the one skirt style that is an office stable for working / professional women.  But you do not need to have a 9 to 5 office job to wear one, because pencil skirts look flattering at formal gatherings, and parties as well.  Regardless of what you wear your pencil skirt with, you will end up with a polished, structured and sophisticated look.

Pencil skirts look best when styled with a blouse, a blazer, a crop top, or a tight turtleneck (for a sexier look!).  To wear at night, pair a fitted high-waisted pencil skirt with a crop top.  For an effortless stylish look, pair a pencil skirt with a tucked-in cotton tee or a slouchy sweater.  I personally love how empowering they are for women!  And how convenient they are for work / meetings / evening affairs, I slip it on, pick one of my long-sleeves silk shirts and I’ve got a smart & professional look in less than 5 minutes…  Add classic pumps or stilettos and you are done!

This timeless style will instantly enhance your curves, slim your waist, and make you look chic.  If you want to look slimmer, a black pencil skirt is your best bet.  If you prefer to add the illusion of curves, choose a skirt with bold patterns.  To create the hourglass figure, just add a skinny dark colored belt around your waist!  It always comes down to choosing the option that works best for your own body type, and then rocking that pencil skirt!  AH!… make sure that you can easily go up & down the stairs with it, as well as get out of a vehicle comfortably!

The White Blazer

Are you looking for a chic & crisp look?  White blazers are not only a summer essential, they are a great alternative for work (all year round).  Getting dressed for work should not be boring!  A white blazer can also polish up an edgy denim to create a chic casual look.  For today’s look I paired my white blazer with a textured pencil skirt and shiny gold heels. Simple, minimalistic and elegant!  What do you think?

The best part about a white blazer is that it can take you from work, to an event, a happy hour, and the weekend.

How to Wear a White Blazer to Work: (1) match it with any solid color pencil skirt, (2) layer it on top of a sleeveless dress for coverage, (3) layer it on a printed dress or skirt, (4) match it on top of black, navy, grey or beige wide leg trousers (I love this option & do it a lot!)

How to Wear a White Blazer in a casual look: (1) match over a tank top & ripped denim, (2) layer over a lace dress, (3) layer over a solid colored / floral dress, (4) match it on top of a mini skirt, (5) wear over any color skinny jeans, (5) black skinny jeans + a black top

Try any of those options and you will look super fabulous.  I have linked eleven different white blazers (from multiple brands and at different prices), check them out!
