Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral
We attended Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral so I wanted to share details for those that asked me about it.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral is iconic. Not only it is one of the most historic churches in the United States, it has been celebrating Christmas with a Midnight Mass for more than 140 years.
The mass was celebrated by Cardinal Dolan, the Archbishop of New York.
Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Around 2500 people attend Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral every year, a tradition that dates back to 1879.
Due to my pregnancy, we decided to stay in the city, instead of driving to Florida to spend the holidays with my family. This was our second time attending Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s, but this one was extra special for sure!
What Time is Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Not all churches start Christmas Eve Mass at the same time, some start one hour earlier. St. Patrick’s Cathedral begins Midnight Mass at midnight on December 25th.
