Savannah is well-known for its coastal landscapes, cobblestoned River Street, Riverside District, and the Historic District.
While driving north from Florida to South Carolina, we stopped in Georgia, for a quick lunch and an afternoon of sightseeing Savannah’s must-see attractions!
Growing up, my aunt shared stories of the study abroad program that took her from Buenos Aires to Savannah, so I looked forward to exploring this charming southern city and the opportunity came up the day before we arrived in Charleston!
Savannah and Charleston are located two hours apart by car, via I-95 S, so staying in Charleston and planning a day trip to Savannah is an option that I recommend. If you plan to visit Charleston, see my detailed 1-Day Itinerary that will help you organize your time there!
Here are eight things to see and do during your visit.
Savannah – Things To Do
Best Things To See in Savannah
1. Explore Forsyth Park
If you are visiting Savannah for the first time, Forsyth Park is a 30-acre area in the historic district, with a majestic fountain as the park’s focal point. The fountain was installed in 1858, similar to those at the Place de la Concorde in Paris.
This park has enormous green spaces, children’s playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, and beautiful gardens. Be sure to bring a coffee or a book, and enjoy some fresh air in a quiet spot!
2. Go on a Savannah history tour
Hopping on a sightseeing trolley tour is the best way to experience a new city when you are short of time. Only 8 cities in the United States have trolleys, and Savannah is one of them! See the trolley tour that I did in St. Augustine here.

3. Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist:
This is the 7th stop of the Trolley Tour. Upon entering this Roman Catholic cathedral I noticed that Mass was taking place, so we sat in the back for 15 minutes and left without capturing photos of its stunning interior!
Cathedral Basilica – Interesting Facts:
- The original cathedral was established in 1799 by the first French colonists to arrive in the area.
- On February 6, 1898, a fire nearly destroyed the cathedral, leaving only the walls and spires.
- It features 81 stained glass windows and 16 gargoyles.
- The cathedral is 214 feet tall with a roof height of 96 feet.
- Pope Francis elevated the status of this church to a minor basilica in 2000.

4. Stroll along River Street
River Street is lined with century-old buildings, antique shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and hotels, all situated along the broad Savannah River.

5. Lunch at The Collins Quarter
After exploring, walk over to The Collins Quarter, a bar, cafe, and restaurant at the corner of W York Ln and Bull St, 151 Bull St, Savannah, GA 31401.
We sat on the patio, enjoyed a drink, and headed indoors for our burgers!
6. The Mercer-Williams House
The Mercer-Williams House was featured in the story told in the 1994 John Berendt book “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” a true-crime book that has become a modern classic.

It’s a gorgeous house, designed by New York architect John S. Norris for General Hugh W. Mercer, the great-grandfather of American songwriter Johnny Mercer.
The 35-minute guided tours are on a first-come, first-served basis.

7. Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace
Another option is to explore the birthplace of Girl Scouts Founder Juliette Gordon Low during your visit!
Owned and operated by Girl Scouts of the USA, this popular spot is open 7 days a week, and it takes 45 minutes to do the guided tour and walk the garden.

8. Bonaventure Cemetery
The cemetery is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Johnny Mercer’s grave is one of the most visited graves at this cemetery.

Hello loves! How is your summer going?? And how was your weekend?? I have been spending a lot of time in the city of Fort Lauderdale lately, and it’s been wonderful. I usually stay in the Miami area, yet it is so nice to change it up a bit! There are so many fantastic restaurants right by the water, peaceful beaches, and lovely areas to walk around. The previous weekend I spent it up in West Palm Beach… you could say I have been exploring South Florida, haha.
This past Friday night we celebrated my mom’s birthday at a super fun French restaurant located in South Beach, Villa Azur, with amazing music, and on Sunday I got to hang out with my 2 sisters. My youngest sister is starting medical school next week, and she also just moved to a new apartment. I have a feeling I will not be seeing her too much this semester!! Anyway, now I am recharged and ready for this new week! Talk soon, big hug! 🙂

Everything But Water
Good morning loves! Miami Swim Week officially starts t-o-m-o-r-r-o-w, yay! This is one of the busiest weeks of the year for me, and one where I wish I was omnipresent to be able to attend every invite that I receive. From July 12 to July 19, I will be at breakfasts, lunches, dinners with brands, swimwear collection previews, runway shows, make-up / hair appointments, shooting a swimwear campaign with an Italian swimsuit brand, and many other fun campaigns!! Today I am happy to share with you this polka dot bikini from my second collaboration with Everything But Water. This stunning vintage inspired bikini is from the latest Onia x We Wore What collaboration. Love the bra-like top, and the high cut/ high waist bottoms! You can easily slide down the bra straps to get a tan without lines (the best!). This bikini is also available in a beautiful peach color, or in the one-piece version. For sizing reference, I usually get my tops in size S, and my bottoms in size XS, but this bottom feels a bit tight. Check out both colors below, which one would you wear?? My Honest Review

A modern twist on the usual military jacket, the white denim jacket that I am sharing today is still as timeless as everything designed by Lauren Ralph Lauren. What caught my eye when I spotted this jacket at the mall was how the embossed gold buttons lend authenticity to this military-inspired jacket, and how the combination of white & black looks overall. When styling this outfit my focus was on making sure that the jacket stood out as much as possible! – I find it unique, stunning & a total show stopper! To create this look I just added a basic solid tube top (here), and a striped skirt, both complement the jacket perfectly. What do you guys think of this summer look?
I wish everyone a safe 4th of July! If you have pets, make sure you lock them up inside for safety reasons! Fireworks scare most dogs (including mine), and usually make them run away or get lost. Every 4th of July and 31st of December, I always make sure to leave the TV on very loudly, so that it blocks the noise coming from the fireworks (and this really helps them!).
