High Rise Cheeky Straight Jeans: I usually wear skinny jeans, but during Spring and Summer I prefer straight jeans. I had been searching for new jeans and tried on every single pair available at GAP. These were my favorite! I love the raw hem, the light indigo wash (exactly what I wanted), and the distressed detailing. They are snug at first, but then adjust to your shape – I LOVE the fit! I sized up to a 26.
Perfect Shirt in Poplin: GAP’s classic shirts are so awesome that I got two! The fabric is super breathable, comfortable, and lightweight. I will be wearing them with shorts, jeans, and over swimsuits. I love white for summer and if you tie this shirt around your waist it looks super cute! Fits true to size, I am wearing XS.
4″ High Rise Button Fly Denim Short: Finding a good pair of denim shorts is not the easiest, at least for me! Denim shorts are my go-to item during the summer, and I wear them Monday – Sunday! These ones have the perfect length, come in a variety of colors, and are a must-have for going to the pool or the beach! You might need more than one in your summer wardrobe! I sized up to a 26.

Château de Hautefort, a breathtaking castle in southwest France

CHÂTEAU DE HAUTEFORT
Have you seen the 1998 movie ‘Ever After: A Cinderella Story’ with Drew Barrymore? It was filmed in the Dordogne region of France, including this and another château.
Château de Hautefort stands on the position of an earlier 12th-century chateau, and this one was built in the middle of the 17th century.
I toured château inside and out, and loved it! It overlooks the Auvezere Valley and Hautefort Village, and it is surrounded by impressive French-style formal gardens. Not only is it listed as a historical monument, it is one of the most prestigious chateaux in the South West of France. If you are ever traveling through France by car, I suggest you stop by and visit this château.
About a decade ago, I visited Château Chenonceau, and on this trip, I was happy to see a few more. They are definitely worth a visit, and take 2-3 hours to tour them around.
We traveled to France for my sister’s wedding and spent the week prior to the event exploring the countryside. We also stayed in Paris, here’s my list of the top things to do in the city!

This Château de Hautefort is located 289 miles (465 km) from Paris via A20, and the drive takes five hours with normal driving conditions.
Is the castle in Ever After real?
The castle in the movie Ever After is definitely real, and you can tour it in person in France. Château de Hautefort was the castle used in the filming of the movie Ever After with Drew Barrymore, and it is gorgeous and worth a visit.

HIGH RISE JEANS SUMMER LOOK
Wearing an amazing pair of skinny jeans and an off-the-shoulder flouncy top is probably one of the simplest summer looks. This easy and laid-back look can be worn throughout the season with flats, sandals, or high-heel sandals for a night out.
Lately, I have found myself preferring … high-rise jeans over any low-rise pair of denim that I own! I love high-rise jeans because they give the illusion of height and elongate the legs.
