As soon as autumn begins, I welcome the joy that a pumpkin spice latte, a warm cider donut, or an apple pie brings me. This year, we were looking forward to going apple-picking in New York with our baby girl, but because she is so little, we opted for a farm smaller than the ones we’ve visited during previous years.

ORCHARDS OF CONCKLIN
This is the first orchard we visited this season, it’s in Pomona, forty miles from New York City. We loved the apples we picked up here, and I turned five into my favorite apple tart!

APPLE DAVE’S ORCHARD
We visited this orchard in September 2019, and also in 2021, and both experiences were completely different! Both were fun, but whether you go early in the season or towards the end when it is extremely busy makes a difference! We brought both of our dogs with us during each visit to Apple Dave’s Orchard.
