CELIA VELA
Fall – Winter 2014/2015
Designer Celia Vela brings us a collection that has a very romantic tone, covered in textured layers, and where black was the predominant color. Most of her dresses were extremely fitted, in order to accentuate the womon’s silhouette (which I love!). Leather gloves, wool mittens, and large sized scarves were used to complement as well as complete many of her looks.

SITA MURT
Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2014-2015
Collection ‘Pure’
Designer Sita Murt presented a collection that was full of lightweight skirts, long sweaters, and pure or neutral colors like beige, white, red and black at this edition of Barcelona Fashion Week. Harem style pants and wool turtleneck ruled her catwalk show. Each design looked so so cozy! but she still was able to give the outfits a very structured, classy & elegant appearance. Two words that sum up her runway looks for next fall are: simple & sophisticated. Check them out!

My coverage of the 13th Edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion week begins today!!! This is truly one of my favorite fashion weeks in the world. My love for Spanish & Catalan designers began back in 2008 when I moved to Barcelona to pursue my graduate degree (for those just tuning in). And also, one of my grandparents is from the region of Galicia, in northern Spain, so I am always appreciative of all things Spanish.
MANGO opened up today with a collection full of minimalist creations. This Spanish brand usually values simplicity and comfort above all else. Khaki, faded denim and shades of white were clearly at the center of MANGO’s look book for the next autumn season. MANGO has once again reduced it right down to the essentials. A few of their relaxed and trendy looks are below!

Hey loves! Last night we attended an annual Thanksgiving Gala & Dinner. It was a beautiful night, the music band was great, the weather was perfect, it was all so good! Here is a photo that was taken right before the dinner began. I wore a white gown with a silver/gold thread detail. To complete the look I chose gold accessories: a gold vintage clutch and matching heels. Thanksgiving is only four nights away, and this is a holiday that I appreciate so much. It’s a time to be grateful for everything that we do have, and a time where we can reflect on how we can help others as well. I hope that each of you has a lovely time with their family on Thursday. Lots of love!

Lovely news!!!
Ralph Lauren has partnered with ASPCA for “The Dog Walk’ Campaign!!! Rescue & shelter dogs were used for the making of this campaign – to increase awareness of the huge number of dogs waiting in cages at shelters throughout the country for a loving home.
The campaign showcases accessories from the Fall 2013 Collection. The video was released this month because it is Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-Month. I love this!!! 10% of the proceeds from this campaign are being donated to the ASPCA… And all the dogs in the campaign have found a forever home. What a creative & effective way to bring love to shelter dogs!
“Saving just one dog won’t change the world… but surely for ‘that one’ dog… the world will change forever.”
Check out: www.ASPCA.org to learn how you can help save a life.
Please visit www.AdoptAPet.com to find a pet to adopt.
Every single dog currently inside a small crate at the shelter is in need of a loving home. Even if you live in a small apartment without a yard, any shelter dog would be immensely better (and safer) to have a safe spot inside your home, receive food and water daily, and all your snuggles.

Today I am sharing a few of the skin care products that I purchased a couple of months ago when I visited Israel. While in Israel, we visited the Dead Sea Region(*), and nearby I found a store (overlooking the Dead Sea shores) that sold an infinite amount of AHAVA creams. I decided to bring a few of these cremes back with me. While I had heard of AHAVA products before, this was my first time purchasing them.
AHAVA creams are made with active dead sea minerals. These minerals are found in the Dead Sea are supposed to rejuvenate your skin. They are paraben free, allergy tested, free of animal testing, produced without petroleum, and approved for sensitive skin. Wish I had purchased more!
(*) The Dead Sea is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east, and Israel and the West Bank to the west. Its surface is 1,407 feet below sea level (429 meters). The Dead Sea has become a location for health research due to the mineral content of the water seems to have positive effects on health.

Tonight we decided to dress up and go out!
The American Colony Hotel is located in the heart of Jerusalem, and it is quite enchanting! While here we found out that the guest list to this hotel has included Winston Churchill, Mikhail Gorbachev, Tony Blair, Bob Dylan and Lawrence of Arabia!
We have been making the most of our time here, waking up around 6 AM, and going to bed around midnight!!! We try to walk around the walled city at least once a day, and then we are just doing guided tours of everything else.
Oh, and buying so many souvenirs, I will need an extra bag for them.

PLACES TO STAY IN JERUSALEM

It’s been an AMAZING opportunity to be in Israel – the Holy Land. Inside Jerusalem, also known as the ‘Old City,’ you can find the most sacred sites in the country, but there is a long list of historic landmarks in the entire land of Israel that can be visited.
Below is a list of the places that we have visited so far, and will visit during our time here.

Today I had my first ever camel ride in Petra, Jordan! I am in the middle of the dessert, and what a wonderful experience this is. The picture above was taken as I retured from the camel ride, and before I got off the camel.
The weather is desert hot, and a bit unbearable to be honest. Glad I had my camera to capture these incredible moments, and now be able to share them with you!
My flats are unfortunately destroyed. They were super comfortable for walking though, but I wore them because I forgot to pack a pair of sneakers.
Things to Do in Petra: (1) Camel Ride, (2) Petra by Night
Petra is an archeological site in Jordan’s desert, dating back to around 300 B.C. It contains tombs and temples carved into pink sandstone cliffs, that is why it is called “Rose City.” Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, and Jordan’s most visited tourist attraction.
I highly recommend a camel ride. I also recommend the Petra by Night tour (after-dark guided excursion), I had not signed up for it, and thirty minutes before the bus was leaving, I was urged to go. It was an undescribable experience, the entire path that leads you into Petra to the treasury is lit the entire way by luminaries, countless candles around you, and music is being played by different instruments while you sit under the stars.
I am glad I went, and that I ignored the negative reviews online. The Night Tour is a must if you are on a romantic trip. Everything lasts about two hours. Expect to be surrounded by 150-200 people. We sat all the way at the back, which was great because it allowed us to head back early before the crowd. ** Wear comfortable shoes… a lot of walking again!
I purchased several necklaces from the young boys that offer to sell you one non-stop. They have beautiful pieces, and I saw it as a way of collaborating with the locals.
This site is featured in the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Arabian Nights, The Mummy Returns, Transformers, as well as many other films.
I hope you have a wonderful time exploring Petra!
