St. Patrick’s Cathedral has been celebrating Christmas with a Midnight Mass for over 140 years. The mass was celebrated by Cardinal Dolan, the Archbishop of New York.

Around 2500 people attend Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral every year, a tradition that dates back to 1879!
Due to my pregnancy, we stayed in the city, instead of driving south to spend the holidays with my family. This was our second time attending Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s, but this one was extra special for sure!

Tickets to Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC
Attending Midnight Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral requires a ticket, but there is no entrance fee.
- Parishioners (must be registered and active) can contact the development office to claim a ticket.
- Non-Parishioners need to apply to the Midnight Mass Lottery.
Midnight Mass Lottery
Submitting a lottery request does not guarantee that the request will be fulfilled. The cathedral receives thousands of requests each year.
Lottery entries that are selected are notified via e-mail.
The lottery will be open from June 15, 2024, until October 1, 2024.
Christmas Day Mass
You can attend mass on Christmas Day (no ticket required) at 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:15 AM, 12:00 Noon, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM (Spanish), or 5:30 PM.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be surrounded by parishioners and worshipers from all over the world during this holiday. To be at this beautiful cathedral, on this night, is so special.
