Is Top of the Rock worth it?
If you are looking for one of the best observation decks in New York City, be sure to head over to Rockefeller Center! After living in the city for the last fourteen months, I finally made it up here! Of all the observatory decks available in New York City, Top of the Rock is probably my favorite.
There are three levels of indoor and outdoor observation decks that offer unobstructed 360-degree views of New York City. The last time I was up here, must have been fifteen years ago! During this visit, my brother and I got lucky, we were practically the only ones visiting the observatory.
This is definitely one of the top things to do in NYC!

Bar SixtyFive is on the 65th Floor and offers cocktails for guests 21 and over.
Is Top of the Rock free?
The cost of visiting Top of the Rock is detailed below, there are three types of tickets available.
- VIP tour: $125
- Express Pass: $75
- General admission: Adults $40, Seniors $38, Children (ages 6-12) $34, Children (5 and under) free.

Visit Top of the Rock During Sunset!
As Sunset is the most popular time to visit Top of the Rock, entries during designated sunset times are an additional $10 per ticket. To visit during sunset, purchase a regular admission ticket and select a sunset entry time online or at the Top of the Rock Box Office.
