Looking for a fun fall activity to do with kids? Apple picking is one of the best ways to spend a morning or afternoon outside of New York City.
Near the city, you will find beautiful orchards where you can pick your own apples, buy apple cider donuts, and do other kid-friendly activities. We’ve visited so many farms and orchards over the years, and today I am sharing my favorite to visit near NYC with kids!

APPLE ORCHARDS IN NEW YORK
Orchards of Concklin
Our favorite orchard for apple picking near New York City is “Orchards of Concklin” in Pomona, New York. We love that it’s only an hour from the city, and after you park, you’re right next to the apple trees.
This is a big plus when you are with kids, since you don’t have to wait for a hayride or other transportation to take you out to the orchard, or walk a long distance before you can start picking apples.
Also, unlike some other farms, there is no admission fee to enter the orchard. You only pay for the bag of apples you pick, and you can choose from three sizes. Since I am pregnant and have a 2-year-old toddler, convenience is important to us!
This was our third year in a row visiting this orchard!
